Bach JS - Solo Concertos Vol.5 - Musica Alta Ripa

Bach JS - Solo Concertos Vol.5 - Musica Alta Ripa
Concerto | Eac, flac, cue | log, cover | 1 CD, 349 MB
July 25, 2000 | MD&G Records | RapidShare

All four pieces receive thoughtful, direct, and intelligent performances by the members of Musica Alta Ripa, and they are exceptionally well recorded.

Leclair - Triosonaten op4 - Musica Alta Ripa

Leclair - Triosonaten op4 - Musica Alta Ripa
Baroque | Eac, single Ape, cue | log, cover | 1 CD, 353 MB
November 2, 1994 | MD&G Records | RapidShare

Musica Alta Ripa was founded in 1984. The recorder player Danya Segal, two violinists Anne Röhrig and Ursula Bundies, cellist Juris Teichmanis, and harpsichordist Bernward Lohr, all outstanding, sought-after musicians in their fields, joined forces to form an ensemble that owes its special aura to the commingling of their individual personalities.

Musica Alta Ripa’s high artistic quality, flexibility, and richness of color as well as the great appeal of its repertoire for some time now have made it a welcome guest at important concert venues and festivals such as the Herne Early Music Days, Bach Festival in Leipzig, Flanders Festival in Bruges, Casa de Mateus International Summer Academy of Early Music in Portugal, and Bach Festival in Philadelphia. The ensemble has undertaken concert tours to the Near East and to Southeast Asia and has concertized in cities such as Milan, London, and Bogotá. In the autumn of 2002 Musica Alta Ripa participated in the staging of Francesco Cavalli’s baroque opera Giasone (1649) at the Ballhof in Hanover under Bernward Lohr. In the autumn of 2003 Giasone was performed at the Goethe Theater in Bad Lauchstädt and repeated in the Hanover program offerings. In September and October 2004 Musica Alta Ripa celebrated its twentieth anniversary in the Hanover Opera House with three gala concerts commemorating the 350th anniversary of the birth of Agostino Steffani.

Since 1991 Musica Alta Ripa has set standards with its extraordinary CD productions, all of them released by Musikproduktion Dabringhaus und Grimm: Italian chamber cantatas, instrumental music of the French late baroque, and chamber music and concertos from the generation of Johann Sebastian Bach’s pupils. Since 2000 three major CD projects dedicated to Bach’s oeuvre have been complete: the five-part cycle of his complete solo concertos, the recording of his complete flute compositions together with the transverse flutist Karl Kaiser, and the release of his chamber music for violin. The year 2003 marked the inauguration of a recording cycle featuring Georg Philipp Telemann’s concertos and chamber music.

Diapason d’or, Cannes Classical Award, Echo Klassik, Audiophile Reference — these are among the awards that have been bestowed on Musica Alta Ripa for its productions. Moreover, Musica Alta Ripa was awarded the Lower Saxony Music Prize in 2002 in recognition of its artistic endeavors.

The ensemble’s name pays tribute to Hanover, to the city in which Musica Alta Ripa was founded and in whose greater metropolitan area most of its members reside. “Alta ripa” is the Latin translation of “high river bank,” and the name “Hanover” developed from “honovere,” its Middle High German equivalent.
